Back on the Draft Horse

I was sick with my last draft, so I joined another league which drafted last night. I had the third overall pick in a 10 team H2H league. This is the first time that I have done a H2H league.

Here it goes:

1. David Wright
2. Brandon Phillips
3. Brandon Webb
4. Travis Hafner
5. Alex Rios
6. Chipper Jones
7. Joe Nathan
8. Brian McCann
9. Mariano Rivera
10. Chris Young (ARI OF)
11. Delmon Young
12. Brett Myers
13. Nick Swisher
14. Shane Victorino
15. Jhonny Peralta
16. Ben Sheets
17. Trevor Hoffman
18. Derek Lowe
19. Kosuke Fukudome
20. Kevin Gregg
21. B.J. Ryan
22. Yunel Escobar
23. Jay Bruce
24. Eric Gagne
25. Kerry Wood.

I think this is a pretty good draft. The people were sleeping in the late rounds and let me take some risks on Eric Gagne, Kerry Wood, and B.J. Ryan.

Quite possibly my worst draft.......ever

It is a 12 team roto league, and I had the first pick. I do personally do not like having the first pick, because of the amount of time and players picked between selections.

Here it is:

1. Alex Rodriguez 3B
2. Curtis Granderson OF
3. Erik Bedard SP
4. C.C. Sabathia SP
5. Jonathan Papelbon RP
6. Adrian Gonzalez 1B
7. Rafael Furcal SS
8. Andruw Jones OF
9. Ben Sheets SP
10. Manny Corpas RP
11. Jarrod Saltalamacchia C
12. Jeff Kent 2B
13. Ken Griffey Jr. OF
14. Kevin Gregg RP
15. Derek Lowe SP
16. Kerry Wood RP
17. Justin Upton OF
18. Garret Anderson OF
19. Homer Bailey SP
20. Bill Hall OF
21. Orlando Hudson 2B
22. Frank Thomas U
23. Yadier Molina.

I think 23 rounds is too many, so I made the last pick a bit of a joke. But overall I am not too happy with this draft, don't think I am good enough offensively..

Thoughts?

Is 27 Really A Magic Number?

A lot of players have had breakout years at the age of 27. A lot of people have said that is when the players reach the best balance of physical talent and mental capabilities. I saw an article on this on the homepage of my fantasy baseball league.

Anyone seriously believe this? If so who is your favorite 27 year old this season?

Any other thoughts, news, fantasy insight is certainly welcome.
